It was quite while ago now, but I hope the person who was kind enough to
write a bespoke action for me might remember.
I needed an action which depending on the date would redirect you to the
“correct” page, this is for the monthly meetings of Oxford Mac Users Group.
I wanted a timed redirect after viewing the landing page to go to this
month’s meeting.
Someone in the past wrote one for me, but I’ve lost track of who it was or
more importantly where it is now??
Help, please.
Best wishes Peter

Sorry to answer my own post, but I’ve searched on some very old hard disks,
amazing what Spotlight will do.
I’ve found it, Tim Plumb wrote “Redirect Between Dates” V1.1 back in June
2002 for FW3.x
It still works in FW5.x
THANKS Tim.

The only updates I made between this and the version I wrote for Peter back in
2002 are that I’ve updated the default dates in the date pickers and you can
now pick dates right out to 2016.
Regards,
Tim.

Hi Peter,
Yes. Sorry I should mentioned it on the site. Unlike the regular redirection the
replace option allows you to move the user to a new page without entering
anything into the browser history. The user can’t use the back button as
nothing exists to go back to. It’s a bit like the PHP’s header redirection but
using JavaScript.
Regards,
Tim.
Thanks Tim,
Many thanks for the update to the dates, can you tell us what is the purpose
of the “Replace” checkbox.
