There is NO documentation for Freeway Pro. However, Softpress has a huge Knowledge Base. From the sounds of it you gents are practically professionals and with the tutorials and the knowledge base, you should do well.

Any of you experts in Freeway land, tried Macaw yet?
Interested in reviews, and seeing any sample sites.
There seems to be a lack of documentation for simpletons like me!!!

I’ve been running the beta version of Macaw, and my general thought is that while it’s still not quite feature complete or even bug free, the foundation is there and the UI and UX is very appropriate. v0.9 and v1.0 were some huge updates that radically improved the app; the future is very bright and approaching quickly.
BTW, Tuts+ has a coupon code that will take $30 off the purchase price if you decide to take the jump. Just enter TUTS when you purchase the license. Supposedly, this coupon is only good for a week.
I’ve only had it for a day but so far it’s been … interesting. It certainly has a modern feel and the functionality, generally speaking, is clearly aimed at what many would consider essential design practices (read: responsive). It’s too soon to know how (or if) it fits into my world yet, but I intend to keep on eye on its progress. In any case it seems to be raising expectations of what’s possible (and needed) from these types of apps.
I’ve been playing around with the trial version today. It’s more like a prototype builder than an full site authoring tool like Freeway is. From what I can see you can’t make inline styles yet. And some pretty odd things are happening with the interface. I’m not sure if this is because it’s buggy or just me because the total lack of any documentation to fall back on. There’s a tutorial to follow here… Using Macaw to Build a Simple Landing Page https://medium.com/web-design-tutorials/aeb72baf1755
I agree with what you say, it’s not quite there, but I thought it was me missing the obvious.
I like how you can assign breakpoints, but it can’t seem to do simple things like a rollover, if you notice any of the sites made in Macaw none of the buttons rollover. I realise this is only a small part of a website, but means a lot to the end user.
And I also notice on Macaw’s support blog, this is being requested.
Personally at the moment I struggle with inline pages in Freeway, so I was looking for an alternative.
Like the others I have a copy (and was running the Beta) however it certainly is NOT intuitive and requires a certain level of understanding of html and css.
Documentation is scant and until that improves it is certainly not an App for the uninitiated.
It has massive promise and will only get better but for me, for now, it has to remain as a novelty and not an everyday tool like FW.
I see the same thing as Dave in latest OS and browsers (desktop and mobile) – you just have to make the page width about 650px or smaller and scroll to the bottom of the page.
The text-field and button both have an incorrect negative top margin which is making them overlap each other and the text above them. I can’t say if that’s down to the design of the page or the application itself. I’m guessing the former, but, knowing the calculations required to convert absolute to relative layouts, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the latter.
And… there’s no span tags from what I can see. You can only style the whole “block”
of text. So far it’s not ready for anything but tinkering @ $175 it’s a non-starter. I suspect they need lot’s of money to keep going and need something out the door fast.
