Mailto with subdomain - broken

If you have to enter a mailto link with a subdomain like…

mailto: user @subdomain.maindomain.com

FW5 incorrectly create the link - it breaks the email into two links. (And in does not hide the email with entities)

(The dummy email above has a gap so it displays in this forum)

I tested this with Freeway Pro 5.2.1 and didn’t have any problems -
the link was in one part and it was encoded properly. Which Freeway
version are you using? Do you have an example online that can be
peeked at?

Freeway Pro 5.3.0 on OSX 10.4.11

I’m testing locally on a test site I’m working on, that will eventually be in a sub-domain.

Can anyone else test on 5.3.0 to see if is just me seeing this?

Hang on… Will the email address actually use a subdomain too?

Yes it will.

I think I see where FW is causing the issue.

If I copy the “styled” email text in the text, and paste that into the hyperlink window it creates an error (program error).

If I copy an un-styled email text into the hyperlink window, then its OK.

So maybe the extra styling copied to the clip board is the issue and nothing do with the sub-domain.

Sounds very likely. Well spotted!

The Hyperlink window’s text fields ought to ignore all embedded
styling and just take the raw text data when content is pasted.
Perhaps they’re not?

Yes it was styles that was causing the issue.

A stray style was is the paragraph and causing the weird issue (strangely earlier in the text block) Now its a single style, and a single link.

The only way I can imagine the link being broken is if one part of the
link is styled differently than another, maybe there’s a pair of
styles applied to it by accident?
