Using an external graphic file for the triggered state
1 Using one of the three graphic drawing tools, create a graphic item on the page.
2 Give the item some content by importing an image or giving it a fill color and/or entering some text.
3 Attach a Target Image Action to the item, either by choosing Target Image from the Actions submenu in the Item menu, or by clicking the button in the Actions palette and selecting Target Image from the Add Item Action dialog.
4 In the Actions palette, click on the Parameters button to switch to the Parameters view.
5 Choose Select… from the Image 1 popup menu to set a target image (the image that will replace the normal image when the mouse moves over the rollover item). Select an image in the Open dialog. Note that this graphic should be in a web-ready format—that is, a GIF, JPEG, or PNG.
6 Make sure the Restore popup is set to Yes. This will cause the normal image for the target item to be restored when the mouse leaves the rollover item.
7 Now select the rollover item. In the Actions palette click on the Parameters button to switch to the Parameters view. In the MouseOver # popup, select 1. This corresponds to target Image 1, which has already been selected and applied to the target item. Notice that both rollover and target items have a chain name of Indigo. This is the default chain name, but can be changed in the Parameters view Target Group popup menu.
Going nuts again. I followed up to number 6 above - no problems, I understand that much, but number 7, I got stuck? but step 7 above leaves me dangling in mid air. I know what the actions dialogue box should look like for this step but I can not get it. As i said, i have done up to step 6 ok. Something is missing here in the flow of things?
Had you already made a separate image stack into a Rollover, so that
you could control the new element you were creating using steps 1 - 6?
These instructions are for a Target element, rather than for the base
Rollover effect itself.

Hi Walter, another case of Duh for me. I already did all this via the video. That was no problem. But I was presuming that the reference manual was teaching another type of rollover/target combination.
Funny thing is I tried following the instructions on page 315 as well. I get no where, there is always something that leaves you confused; whereas the video was much better.
For example on page 319 step 6 seems a complete contradiction to the video and actually leaves me not knowing where to go from here. You HAVE to combine the two otherwise you get no rollover applied.
I really need to watch some good videos on this product. I have downloaded the Itunes ones, (made in 2009), why did they stop? has that anything to do with the fact they moved to paid material from some members?
I find manuals more of a hinderance to be honest, I have done some teaching myself and nothing beats demonstration in order to clarify difficult procedures.
Speaking from my own experience (not as the author of those
screencasts, the amazing Paul Dunning) screencasts are an enormous
time-sink and startlingly harder to do than you might think. There are
some new screencasts in the 5.5 site showing off the new features like
RPL, and I am sure that the parties involved will agree that you can
take any time estimate and multiply by a large number and still not
hit the actual hours spent making them.
