Mbp vs iPad

Good morning

I use the full background action for the backgrounds on: http://www.ussniagara-sfi.org/

On the iMac or mbp it looks good.

On the ipad2 I am seeing the picture ending and a grey border around it. I addition it is not doing the full screen especially when scroll the page

Pease help
Thank you!
Julie

This is a known issue, and I’m afraid I don’t know any way around it.
The iPad and the iPhone behave badly, but badly in different ways,
with respect to this layout technique. Strictly speaking, the
MobileSafari browser doesn’t have a notion of window size per se.
Because you can zoom in and out of the page, that’s a very slippery
notion anyway. All of these effects rely on asking the browser for the
dimensions of the window. That’s where this breaks down, and unless
there is another property that we could substitute for the window
dimensions, there’s no way to fix this. You may want to try another
layout technique, probably something using a real background image or
combination of background images and colors, and you will no doubt
find that there are knock-on benefits from that change, like faster
page loading, which will benefit all browsers.

Thank you Walter. I will explore it. The star trek groups want the pix as a full background and it’s not a tileble image.

I think you should consider iOS specific pages - if iOS is that important to the members.

To me the current layout doesn’t work on Pad or Phone - the nav menu is too wide for starters!
