menu css

I am rather an amateur at Freeway. I have a site that I have built and am happy with and use css. I use two master pages with menus that appear beautifully in Freeway, but in the browser they default to a simple list at the top. I never knowingly changed the master but obviously there is something wrong. Any ideas how these things occur? Thanks!

There doesn’t appear to be any indication that the CSS menu action has been applied on these pages.

Make a new page based on a Master with a menu that works to check in Browser view.

Otherwise check your child pages that the CSS menu action is correctly applied.

Thanks. I tried to make a new page based on the master. It also does not show the menu correctly. On all pages on the menu box there is a small window in the upper left of the box that says “CSS Menus”. Hmmm.

All that tells you is that the CSS menu action has been applied to that container.

I would choose one of the Masters and select the CSS Menu container. Then carefully note all of the settings you have applied in the CSS Menu action window (so you can reapply them).

Then remove the CSS menu action from the container and publish the page(s)

Now reapply the CSS Menu action on the Master page and reinstate the settings.

Now publish again.

If the menu does not appear correctly on any of the child pages then ensure that Use Master Content and Use Master Settings are ticked in the Inspector for each menu container.
