Modem

My internet provider (Comcast) charges a monthly fee to use their modem so I want to buy my own. Recommendations? It just needs to work, I don’t need all the trimmings.

I did exactly the same thing. I went with Motorola, but I don’t have model info handy. I’ll get back to you on that.

Will comcast offer to sell theirs?

Look at what brand you have. Buy the newer model of the same brand

Hmmm, good question. I don’t know, but if so I’m sure it would be overpriced.

Is this because there might be compatibility issues?

Thank you Bryan, I’ll read it today.

I also found a listing of my ISP approved modems and Chuck’s recommendation was on it so it looks like I have to stick with one of those as Dale alluded to.
