You could make a new Master page with nothing on it, switch to that
from this page, and see if that gets rid of the problem. That’s odd,
though, if there truly are no instances of the Scripty stuff applied
to this page, there shouldn’t be this link to the scripts in the page
head. Have another look around, particularly on the pasteboard, and
see if there isn’t a Carousel Tab or a Carousel Button lingering
somewhere. Also make sure you don’t have Protaculous applied to the
page. That is actually what this appears to be, since glider.js is not
being linked to the page. All of the Carousel Actions require that
script. There are seven different Actions in the Protaculous “bundle”:
* Protaculous
* Observer
* Carousel
* Carousel Pane
* Carousel Button
* Carousel Text Tab
* Carousel Tab
Other Actions of mine that would include either prototype.js or
prototype.js and scriptaculous.js are:
* AjaxFileListing
* CalendarView
* ScriptyAccordion
* ScriptyLightbox
And don’t forget, Freeway includes these libraries in any of the FX
Actions, and many of the Target Show/Hide Actions, as well as the
Scriptaculous Slideshow Action. I actually don’t have a good list of
all the places where Softpress has injected these libraries.
Any of these Actions could be doing this. You might want to step back
and see if there’s a way to do what you want with Scripty instead of
Moo. Most effects have their equivalents between the two libraries.
The same holds true for jQuery, YUI, Ext, and any of the other major
browser script libraries. Prototype was one of the first, and many
imitators and forks of it have spread out over the years. They all try
to do the same things, but they each have their point of difference
and reason for being.
No matter which one you choose, this basic rule holds true for any of
them: try to stick to only one such in any given page. These libraries
are between 100 and 300K each. That’s already how much any given page
should “weigh”. Adding two or more of them leads to serious porkiness
and the concomitant visitor defection midway through page load.
Plus, you want to leave some room in your bandwidth budget to show
some pictures, right?

Thanks guys,
Just had a look at the source and scriptaculous has sneaked in
somewhere, as per this:

I never use masterpages usually, except in this case there is Dan
j’s ‘box model’ base layout but no scripty stuff has been applied to
it. I always duplicate pages as I go.
This Moo page will have been duplicated from a page containing
Carousel but everything of that was stripped out - or so I thought.
Certainly no actions applied.
Now the question is; how do I get rid of this spurious code ?
Actually I could go back to base layout and apply what I need.
Though I would be really po if that didn’t do the trick.
