Mouse-over hints/text appears?

I’m pretty sure this is basic stuff but how do I get a text box to appear on mouse over on an icon on a page.

We have a series of icons each representing feature of a product and want the user to mouse over and as he does a short description appears…

Thanks in advance

Ben

Hi Ben,
In the Edit/ Hyperlink dialog box take a look at the title field. It
should do what you need.
Regards,
Tim.

That will create a tooltip, a label that appears by the user’s cursor
when they pause over an item.

If you want to show something more substantial than that, for example
a whole HTML box or even a number of boxes grouped together, then
make sure the item to show/hide is a layer, apply the Target
Show/Hide Layer action to it, apply the Rollover action to your
‘icon’ graphic, and configure those so the rollover triggers the
show/hide layer effect.

Hi Ben

Have a look at OverLib (http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/). I’m not very web-savvy so it took me a while to figure it out, but I’ve now got it running on my Freeway site with quite good results I think.

Have a look at:

http://www.trimediaprint.co.uk/FullColourPrinting/postcards.html

The little blue cross-hair icons are rollovers next to each print item.

I can’t remember the ins and outs of getting it working in FW, but let me know if you need any more info and I’ll try and dig around and find out.

Hope this helps.

Tony
