Multiple instances of Exhibeo output on the same page

Anyone knows how to add multiple instances of Exhibeo output on the same page? Below is what i found on the site. I already changed the default ID to something Unique and in the stylesheet. But im unsure where to place the files. cant put it on the pages root because it will try to overwrite the files.

If you want multiple instances of Exhibeo output on the same page, you’ll need to change the default id from exibid to something unique. This will need to be changed in the code, and also in the CSS stylesheet. Simply open the stylesheet in your text editor and do a global find and replace for the text exibid.

If you have multiple instances of the same theme on the same page, you need only reference the JavaScript files once.

Hi Mark,

Here are the detailed steps you need to take, assuming you’ve already output multiple instances of the same theme:

  1. Change all instances of exibid (not just IDs, do a global find/replace) to something unique in the HTML and stylesheets (sounds like you’ve done this already)
  2. Place all the folders from the first instance alongside your HTML page
  3. Open the second instance’s stylesheet in a text editor, copy everything after the “User Editable Styles” comment near the bottom of the file and paste it at the bottom of the first instance’s stylesheet. If you have more than two instances then do the same with the rest – you want to end up with one stylesheet
  4. Copy all the images from the second (and subsequent) instance’s image folder into the one alongside the HTML page. If you have name clashes then you’ll have to resolve these and change image names in the body markup
  5. Put the head markup from the first instance into the head element of your page
  6. Put the body markup from all instances into the body element and add your own positioning styles

That should be it.

Joe

Thank you Joe, Worked like a charm. Another question. How can I make BLOXX open to the size of the page instead of the Widget?

Is there an easier way to have multiple exhibeo bloxx instances now that it’s 2015?

How about 2020!

Further to my last comment, and specifically in case it is relevant to anyone else who comes across this and faces the same issue, I have discovered that I am actually able to have two functioning different exhibio outputs on the same page!

No editing operations required other than that for some reason the second output gallery had a space in the name which, once removed, functioned perfectly with no java script error.

Most curious but for now, in 2020, this seems to be working!
