I can’t seem to find any actions that I’ve installed using the “Edit Actions” window within Freeway.
We just recently upgraded all of our computers to the new iMacs running OS X 10.8.3. As I was installing Freeway I noticed there was no Freeway folder in application support. We always install/uninstall actions by dragging and dropping the action into the folder within Application support but since it was not there I decided to install actions using Freeways built in method.
Well all of our actions installed properly but I can’t uninstall any actions that I no longer want. I tried uninstalling FW6 Pro and reinstalling it but the actions that I installed previously are still there. Did a finder search for filenames but they are not there.
Does anyone know where Freeway puts external actions?
Yes, like you said it’s not in the Application support location. I tried looking around for the pref files but couldn’t find anything regarding Freeway. Do you know where I could find the files.
First place I went was to Library > Preferences but no luck. I’m certain the actions are being compressed somewhere I just don’t know where.
Actions can be coming from the document itself, or any other open document in Freeway. To truly get rid of them in that case, you have to close all other documents, then locate all instances of the Action in that document, remove them all, and finally publish once to remove it from the document cache. The Edit Actions dialog will show you Document Actions at the very top of the list, followed by the application’s built-in Actions and the User Actions.

Hi Bernard,
Actions can be stored on one (or more) of the following locations;
Inside the user’s Library folder;
/Users/tim/Library/Application Support/Freeway 5/Actions/
Note that Freeway 6 changed the folder name removing the version number;
/Users/tim/Library/Application Support/Freeway Pro/Actions/
Inside the main Library folder;
/Library/Application Support/Freeway 5/Actions/
of for Freeway 6;
/Library/Application Support/Freeway Pro/Actions/
Inside the application bundle itself (please do not store Actions here!)
Right-click on the Freeway application icon > Show Package Contents > Contents/SharedSupport/Actions/
Cached with the Freeway file itself
As Walter mentioned if you open a Freeway document that uses an Action and that Action can’t be found in one of the locations above then the application will use the Action information embedded within the file itself. For most simple Actions this is perfectly fine although a lot of Actions that rely on external files (these Actions often have the .fwactionb extension) will break as the caching doesn’t extent to these external files.
You can spot a cached Action by going to Edit > Actions and looking for the top of the Actions list where they’ll be listed.
I’m hoping I’ve not missed a location from this list but if I have I’m sure someone will remind me.
Regards,
Tim.

Thanks all for your help. Looks like In Mac OS 10.7 and 10.8 the Library folder is not displayed in the Finder anymore. To navigate to the Application Support folder I had to follow these steps.
Open the Finder
Go to the Menu Bar and open the “Go” menu.
Select the entry: “Go to Folder…”
Enter the path of the Application Support folder:
~/Library/Application Support
You can also display the Library folder if you press the ALT-Key while in the “Go” menu.
It seems like there needs to be a setting in Freeway to choose where you want to store the actions. On the computer level or the user level. This option wouldn’t just fix this scenario, it would help when using multiple users on one computer so you wouldn’t have to update your actions per user.

The default if you open (double-click) an action is that it is stored in the user folder.
Personally I always copy actions into the Computer>Library>Application Support folder so that actions are available to all users and if any get into the User>Library>Application Support folder inadvertently then I move them.
I wonder how they would manage this in Freeway and not run afoul of the MAS sandbox rules.

Hi Ferdinand
that’s sounds like the WebYep config-file creator action…
This is how you apply this action to a document
On the left had side of an open freeway document is the site panel
At the top level is usual a folder called Site folder
Click on that folder and then you can apply the webyep config file action.
This top level folder action controls all the other webyep actions within that folder
