Net images

Nick,

If I am dragging images from Safari (for eg those found on Google)
straight into Intaglio,
instead of getting just the image, I get a link instead. I don’t have
this problem if dragging into
Keynote or Pages, so why am I getting it in Intaglio?

When a drag or copy operation is performed the originating app decides what data type to offer to recipients. For example, an app might offer both styled and plain text so that basic apps can get basic text but advanced apps can get styled text. In older apps, such as those ported from Classic (e.g., probably Office), if the user copied a text block the app would frequently offer both text and an image of the text. Clearly if the receiver can handle it you’d rather get the text than the image. For that reason if both are available, Intaglio will take text before it takes images. My guess is that Safari is offering both the image you drag and the URL as text so Intaglio is taking the text.
