Hello
I’ve got some text which needs bullet points. If I select the list style in the Character and Paragraphs settings it gives my list of text bullet points. But it insets the bullet points. How do I stop it from insetting the bullet points? So that the bullet points left align with all my other text?
I’ve gone to the w3school website and tried list-style-position:inside but this doesn’t seem to do anything??
Thanks

Hello mark
what you need to do is create special style to control your list.
First just apply the list indent to the text which you want to have bullets as per normal
Then go to Edit/Styles and create a new style if yo name it some thing easy to recognize it will make life easier like… bulletNoIndent
Then click the Extended button
click new, add margin in the name field and 0px in the value field area, click ok
click new, again, add padding in the name field and 0px in the value field area, click ok
click new, again, add list-style-position in the name field and inside in the value field area, click ok
Click ok again to close the extended attribute popup and finally ok once more to close the edit style window.
now finally highlight the bulleted text and apply this new style
finally view in preview and you should see the bullet list unindented
all the best max

Are you trying to unindent the list items or are you trying to keep the bullets, but not have any text that goes to a second line sit outside the bullet?
If it’s an unindent, Max has you covered. If it’s just to keep the text lined up, and still have the bullets then your list-style-position would be the only thing to change to:
list-style-position: outside
If you went this route don’t add the margin and padding rules from Max’s solution or else it won’t work right.

Thank you Max and Dan
With a bit of fiddling with the Margin I’ve got what I wanted.

Nice looking site! Wish you were nearer Cornwall; we have a hell of a
job getting decent seasoned stove wood.

You may not have applied the styling correctly - post a link to your online page and we can have a look.
Which of these did you want BTW

Hi and thanks.
Example here: http://www.sly-design.co.uk/liststyle/
I’d like to line heading and bullets up to the left.
