Why has nobody replied to the thread I posted below? Doesn’t anybody know? Would be good if someone could tell me if what I’m trying to do is possible or not.
Typically SWF files have hyperlinks built into them set in the software that they are made in. Now I know a few programs that don’t offer that, but I don’t remember reading how you made these. If you wrapped a link tag (Edit > Hyperlink) around the SWF the site wouldn’t validate and that could be an issue for cross-browser compatibility.
What are you using to create the SWF file and /or is there anything in that products documentation about it? Typically, as I said previously, if you’re using Adobe Flash (strictly the program) to make your SWF files then it’s easy to add hyperlinks. Most people get concerned that if they make a SWF with a hyperlink in it, that it will try and load the web page inside the Flash item which simply doesn’t happen.

All sorts of reasons. Me, I was rather busy!
Basically, you can’t apply a link to plugin content except through
the authoring process for that content itself. In this case, through
Flash or whatever SWF-generating tool you used.
However… you can use Flash (etc.) to put ‘stub’ links -
single-word links rather than true URLs - into the Flash content and
then use Freeway’s Flash Extras action to connect those pseudo-links
with actual content in your Freeway site. That’s a little different,
but it might help.
I do seem to remember hitting problems with this if I used
ActionScript 3 output from Flash, but I can’t remember for sure.
