I believe that Publisher can open a PDF – can you make a simple layout in InDesign, export in that format, and see if your client can make sense of it?
Need to leave them with editable text and picture boxes.
InDesign, wash your mouth out Walt, for better or worse 20+ year QuarkXpress user
Worse case, I will do it in word…
Try doing it in QXP, then. Anything that can make a PDF should be enough to start with.
I started DTP using QXP in 1989, so I’m a long-term user as well. (I taught a university class in Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop for three years, too.) But when it came time to buy a copy with my own money, Adobe bundled ID 1.0 with a new Mac I needed anyway, and that pretty much changed my mind. That and Quark were being horrible about Mac OS X at the time.
Reply was a tongue in cheek reply, not meant to offend
Yes I agree, Quark to expensive, I bought version 9 with my own money. Not fussed about 10.
I’ve just used it for that long, find it quicker to get the job done.
