Did you get a reply from MailChimp yet? This is an opt-in list, and you have to confirm your e-mail address before the system will add you to the list. Take a look through the various spam traps and see if you got an e-mail from MailChimp asking you to click a link to confirm your address. It takes a few minutes to go through.
