orphaned scripts

Since the update of the protaculos a few orphaned packer.js. Where can I found or delete them?

Are you seeing these in your Edit / Resources dialog?

Have you confirmed that you have installed the very latest version of everything? Are you up-to-date in Freeway itself (many of the Actions also use these libraries, and would need to be the latest version so as to not conflict).

If so, you may need to do a deep-cleaning of your document. First, go to Edit / Actions, and note on which pages the Scripty or Protaculous or FX Actions are being used. If any of them are noted as being sourced from the document itself (they’ll be listed at the top of that dialog) then pay particular attention to those.

Move to each page, locate where the Action is attached (page or object(s)), write down the settings if necessary, and copy out any pasted-in script from Protaculous’s various dialogs and paste each one into a temporary text file. After you have done this in each case, you may remove the Actions entirely from the page or object(s).

Once you have removed all instances of the Actions from your site, Publish once. Then return to each location and re-apply the Actions and re-configure them from your notes. This should get rid of the problem altogether.

Walter, one more time: thank you. All versions are the latest ones (thats why this problem appears). I do not use Scripty or Prot anymore. But I will check it again.

Checked it: there is no scripty or protaculos Action within the document… (but the missing ressources appear back to FW 5…)

Are you using any of the FX Actions, or the Rollover Action? Those also include it. Ditto Paul Dunning’s Spawn New Window, maybe some others I’m not thinking of at the moment…

Yes, there is (was) one Rollover Beethoven Action. Took it away… the message still appears. I went thorugh the whole document again - there is no FX, Scripty, Rollover Action anymore. There are also no orphaned objects within the document. You knwo, the one which you forgot to delete. The strange thing is that I cannot find the orphaned scripts. Even with EasyFind.

Let’s try a quick-search to narrow this down. Do a save as to create a new copy of the document. In the Document Setup, change the Site Folder to a new, blank folder. Now publish, and see if the orphan rears its head. If it does, save this document (to establish an über-undo) and then delete half of the pages from the document and publish again. If the error is gone, you can now revert back to the saved version, and delete the other half of the pages. Publish again and confirm that the orphan is back. Now save, then delete another half of the pages, and restore or continue saving and deleting half the pages until you find just the one page (or few pages) where the problem exists.

Report back your findings. If you get this down to a few pages and you still can’t make it go away, then you will have a much smaller document that you could send to someone (me, maybe) for further dissection.

Water, you’re the man: I did the delete idea. Half - half - half… Shame on me: it was a hidden element with scripty. I owe you a beer. Thank you.
