Page Background

Is there a way to make a page background that does not continue beyond the page? I do not want to put a photo on the page to accomplish that as it would be too big a file.

I am using Freeway 4 Pro. Have tried Freeway 5 but it keeps quitting on me.

Is there a sample site to understand what “not continuing beyond the page” means? Are you wanting a flexible graphic or do you want a gradient sorta-deal?

A little more detail might help get your question answered.

Yes, go to http://www.websitesforhorses.com . You will see that the green background continues on after the end of the site page. (End meaning the right hand side. All of my sites do this.)

Thanks for your help.

Ok, I think I understand your question. You want the “page” area to have a different color than the background.

Wat you have to do is give the page that contains your content a background of it’s own. To do that you either need to apply a graphic object that covers the page area, or an html object that covers the page. Make sure this is behind everything else on the page then give it the color you desire. If you want the page to appear to be centered so that the green background color is on the right and left side, then with nothing selected on the page go to the Inspector pallet and set page to align to center.

I have been afraid that this would make my file size too large.

Thgank-you.

If all you do is place an html box behind everything else and give it a solid color it will add very little to you page size. You just want to differentiate the page area from the background so a simple color difference should suffice.
