Page unexpectedly jumps with an inline button

I am building a a page with a pane that slides out as detailed by Walter at http://www.freewaytalk.net/thread/view/121058#m_121158.

My sliding panel can be seen here http://www.richard-lowther.com/doucefrance2/

The button (and pane) are part way down the page and come into view when scrolled down to.
The button is the “offer special 4 nuits pour 3” small panel on the right which is in line. But on clicking the button the page leaps back to the top.

The same thing happens when I tried an alternative method - show-hide layer coupled to a rollover. If any scrolling down has been done clicking the open and close close buttons makes the page shoot back to the top.

But - I have added an alternative button which is not in line a little lower down the page and this does not make the page jump.

Is there a way to make the page keep in the position chosen if a button is inline?

Richard

It did indeed my answer question. Many Thanks - you have an impressive retrieval system - all in your head ?

I canot store things (CRAFT) like that so have to clip them from this list and stick them in a file if I think they will be useful - which is where this will go.

The Hyperlink- Javascript worked on the slide out panels and the show hide layer. I am very pleased many thanks again.

Looks like other synapses are malfunctioning too. Is there a Javascript for the brain to get my Hyperlinks working there ?
