I’m upgrading to a multi-site plan at a familiar hosting service and have the option of personalized nameservers. Is there an advantage to this, possibly for branding purposes? Any info appreciated!

Personalized name servers are just for branding purposes, there are no other advantages… and when doing a lookup for the IP address, people can get easily information about where you host your websites nevertheless, so I think this is senseless effort.
