Photographers Website?

Hi,
This is more a topic of discussion than a requirement of help!

I haven’t personally every made a website for a photographer but was wondering what I would do if I did!..So, a couple of questions, who has done a photographer’s website and how have you done it? (particularly how have you done CMS?) Obviously, they would require albums and categories of ever changing images…how would this be best achieved in Freeway?

Hi Fergus,

I’ve done several plus my own. I rely on Lightroom a lot these days. Most recent being www.simonnicholaswhite.com There’s a choice of gallery options with Lightroom and it helps to organise what can be disparate set of image files from the client. The other benefit is being able to add captions and copyright info. In the past I’ve used various image slave actions, my old site has this, bottom of here: www.scottish-photography.co.uk

One photographer I did a site for uploads new images via his copy of Lightroom but in the main its easier to do it yourself.

If there are not to many images and you wish them to be of a reasonable size, of course there are ways to make even bigger images, pop ups etc. then just a link to a scrolling page might do. Such as here: www.scottish-photographers.com

hope that helps,

seoras
