Does anyone have any thoughts on the ScriptyFader problem described above?

I have seen this issue, but I haven’t figured out how to fix it yet.

Sorry,

Walter

Walter, I just converted an old site over to FWP 6. I’m using your NEW ScriptyFader action (v .06) you posted a link to above and I’m getting a weird anomaly.

The first image is misaligned, even though it’s aligned properly in FWP, but all the subsequent images are aligned perfectly. Here are the affected pages:

http://cs.idealynx.com/careers.html
http://cs.idealynx.com/services/homebuilder.html

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Thanks!

Hi Walter, is there any chance that the action is ready sometimes soon? I need it urgently for a clients website, otherwise I have to fall back to FW 5.6, which would be a pity

I have tested the beta version in:

MAC

Firefox 20 - ok
Google Chrome 26.0.1 - ok
Opera 12.15 - transitions are not smooth
Safari 6.0.3 - ok

PC

IE 9 - transitions are not smooth
Firefox 20 - ok

iPhone / Safari (version ?) - ok

Thanks a lot for your efforts!

Can you describe “not smooth” to me? Does it jump in steps from one opacity to the next? Does the whole page jump around when the hidden element is shifted behind the currently-visible one? I don’t have IE9 running here, I’d have to go to the Best Buy (or my wife’s office) to see this in person.

The fading itself jumps in steps from one opacity to the next like in Opera, but let me check it again for a proper description… I come back in a minute…

I can recommend a great free app called “wine bottler” that allows you to
run Internet Explorer on a mac - its not pretty, but then it never was -
but it at least renders using the same engines and you can choose versions
which it is bundled with.

It seems there is a short period of fading-in, but in the middle (between two options) there is just white for a millisecond…a kind of blinking… in my test I use grafic items in different colours…which makes the error especially visible.

Hope this helps.
Sorry for the poor description I am not a native speaker

That’s fine. Have you tried experimenting with longer transition times? That might mask or solve the problem.

I have tested it, but the blinking remains in IE 9:

06 interval /1 opacitiy / spinner on
12 interval /1 opacity / spinner off

The same is true for Opera 12.15 on Mac

Hi Walter. I really appreciate your efforts and I don`t like to push. Maybe you are so kind to let us know if there is a progress in the development of the beta action? That would be great. Thanks a lot.

Until ScriptyFader is out of beta, would it be best to try that Showcase option for a simple fading slideshow? I’ve read the voluminous material on it, but haven’t had any experience using it. How does it work with a straightforward slideshow – no thumbnails, etc.

Getting ready to rework a site and would appreciate feedback.

It’s not working for me. I’ve had to turn it off.

I get an error message in the div that the primary image is in - it says ‘Multiple Choices’ and cannot find the requested page, but finds similar named pages - these have a ‘c’ or ‘d’ at the end of the file name it’s requesting.

Any ideas?
