Please Help!! Image Replacement Action Causing Problems

Hi Walter … just want to make sure I understand … Right now the action doesn’t allow for forcing the background images to print. But with the proper code it is? The information on the web for forcing an h1 and h2 background image to print is mixed. If it can’t be added to the action, is there any code that you know of that I could add somewhere to make the h1 and and h2 print like they look on the screen? Trying to get everything to look good, print good and be SEO sure is a pain in the #@%.

If you use image replacement (the concept) as this Action does, then
no, you cannot have it print exactly the same as it views on screen
UNLESS you somehow get your visitors to modify their default browser
settings. In my many years of Web design, I have yet to meet a
significant number of average (non-industry) users who could manage
that trick.

There is another construction you could try, where instead of
replacing the image with an H1 or H2 and using a background image to
do the graphical replacement, you just wrap your image with the header
tag and hope that the alt text is enough, semantically speaking, to
give you the “header-ness” you’re looking for. That would certainly
print and view identically, but I don’t think it would actually give
you the SEO juice you are looking for.
