Anyone else getting annoyed by FW secretly changing PNGs to JPG in the Graphics Item/Type dialog? The result of course is an awful looking graphic.
For whatever reason, it’s automatically a JPG, regardless of the type of graphic one uses. This oddity has been around forever, but gets really annoying because one repeatedly has to go around and check every single PNG item and correct as needed. And then do it again if you make any changes.
I know, I’m just being facetious about it - but I do wish there were at least a preference tick box for auto-converting graphics - or not. I use png for transparencies exclusively - jpg can’t do that.
I’ll pass this tip on too - pngs can be shrunk nicely as well here - https://tinypng.com - it plays nice with FW.
You could/should use your png files as pass-through especially if you have used tinypng to compress them already. If you dont then they will end up bigger again once FW has had its way with them.
