png transparency

I’m losing the transparency on my PNGs when I import them into a graphic item. I understand that I need to change the setting by clicking on the Output tab of the Inspector and changing the Type from JPEG to PNG and set Colors to Millions, but I can’t find the output tab. Is there a reason it wouldn’t be showing up in the inspector, or am I looking in the wrong place.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

With the graphic item selected, the inspector should have x4 'tab’s across the top - you need to click on the third tab (looks like a square grey dialogue box with tiny text on). You should then see ‘type:’ as the first choice and I asume Jpeg currently selected. Change this to PNG and colours to millions, and republish. Also refresh the browser to make sure as sometimes the old graphics still display.

If it’s not showing up, I’m not sure. How are you making the PNGs - are you using the ‘save for web and devices’ in Photoshop? I sometimes just tend to use native photoshop files with transparency and let Freeway do the same.

Sorry I can’t be more help.

Neil.
