Possible Intaglio Replacements

For What It’s Worth:

I added some additional information to the MacIntaglio web page.

Please NOTE, that this web page, is FAR from complete.

It appears that some members on this forum are somewhat “leaning” towards Affinity Designer and also EazyDraw. But this web page tries to show you some of the OTHER options.

1. ARTICLES ABOUT MAC VECTOR DWG. PROGRAMS:

I did a Google search “best macintosh vector drawing programs”, and listed some of these on the web page at http://macintaglio.com#articles – plus a notation of what programs the articles discussed.

2. LIST OF OTHER MAC VECTOR DWG. PROGRAMS:

I made of list of the programs mentioned in the above articles, and that list is posted further down on that same web page at http://macintaglio.com#programs .

Most of those apps, I think, are in the Apple App Store. The same web page, further down the page, contains a couple of screen captures of the beginning of the list in the App Store.

Note the App Store appears to have a lot of programs – that have NOT been discussed in any of the articles.

~ ~ ~
Note a few of these apps are free, some are one-time purchase, and some are fairly-expensive subscriptions – such as Adobe Acrobat – which seems to be considered the “industry standard” for the professionals who use it all the time and can afford it.

A few apps are web-based, most run on your desktop; some have both versions.

3. GOOGLE SHEETS SPREADSHEET:

I started a ‘Google Sheets’ spreadsheet, titled “Possible Intaglio Replacements” – which you can view at
w21H17-Intaglio - Google Sheets .

I sort of “RAN OUT OF GAS” at this point.

TO COPY THIS SPREADSHEET:
Note if you have a Google ID (gmail, etc), you can use the "File -> Copy" command to make a copy of this spreadsheet, and Google will put it in your own Google Drive area.

I mention this, just in case anyone more ENERGETIC than me, wants to continue this spreadsheet themselves.

  1. FACEBOOK GROUP:

I have also created at "MacIntaglio" FACEBOOK group for notes about POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS at https://www.facebook.com/groups/macintaglio . This gives me (or others) the option to copy notes about possible "Replacements" onto this Facebook page.

In my opinion, having a Facebook presence has several ADVANTAGES:

* It may give this "Intaglio Project" more exposure".
* You can easily include JPEG screen captures on a Facebook page -- which you CAN'T do in this Forum.
* You can EDIT (correct) your post on Facebook at a later date -- which you CANNOT do in this Forum.

~~~~
* The DOWNSIDE of Facebook groups, is that the FILING system works basically the same as a GARBAGE DUMP.
* All the new stuff, gets piled on top of the old stuff.  If there's a lot of information, it can be difficult to "dig down" to the old stuff.
  1. COMMENT ABOUT FACEBOOK AND YOUTUBE PRESENCE:
OBSERVATION:  For some of these OTHER graphics programs, they have both Facebook pages and Youtube videos, being posted by both the developers and the users -- which gives the program some "visibility".
By contrast, in my humble opinion, Intaglio has existed as almost a SECRET program over the years -- no Facebook presence, and nobody making Youtube videos about it (except my 1 too-late video).
