Okay, I’ve hit another snag with my transition from a MacPro to a MacBook Pro for use as a desktop system. As it turns out I had no idea how many USB devices I would need to move from a desktop to a laptop. So I don’t overload my MacBook Pro I purchased several Powered USB Hubs to help.
Here’s my current USB arrangement. Both of my hubs are connected directly to the MBP.
Hub A (Satechi 4-port USB 3):
- Matrox DualHead2Go Digital ME-Powered Device
- Dymo LabelWriter Twin Turbo
- My Passport 1.5TB External Drive-Powered Device
Hub B (Belkin In-Desk USB Hub 2):
- Apple External SuperDrive
- Spyder3Elite Color Calibrator-Powered Device
As you can see, both of my MacBook Pro USB hubs are being used. I was wondering if I can connect a Powered Hub into a Powered Hub to free up a port, so basically my configuration would look like this:
Hub A (Satechi 4-port USB 3):
- Matrox DualHead2Go Digital ME
- Dymo LabelWriter Twin Turbo
- My Passport 1.5TB External Drive-Powered Device
- Belkin In-Desk USB Hub 2
Will that work or do I run the risk of tearing a whole in the space-time continuum? ![]()
