I need to have a smaller “pop-up” window open with my home page (the index page), when the site is launched. I also need to have the user be able to close this smaller window. Preferably, the pop-up window should not appear again after the site is launched, i.e., when the user decides to navigate back to the home page from another page on the site. I suspect that there must be a way to do this in FW. Any suggestions?

You will need to set a cookie so that subsequent visits wont show the popup
Example at http://www.deltadesign.co/fw_examples/other/cookiepage.html
The initial view can be implemented by using one if the FX actions - I think Attention FX will do it.
Have a search for a thread I think titled ‘to cookie or not to cookie’

Thanks Dave!
After reading most of the thread I decided to stay away from pop-up cookies. I’ll think of another solution.

You make it sound like a breakfast item.
They are 2 different things - popups and cookies.
