[Pro] 7 CSS Menu Stying

Having followed the tutorial in building the new Auto Generated menu I now find I don’t know how to style the fonts…if that is indeed possible.

Is there a tutorial or info somewhere on changing the font in the Auto Generated menu.

Thanks, Carolyn

You can select the menu container and any font styling you apply to it will be reflected in the menu.

Thank you David, I’m still working on a menu which at one time totally disappeared!

Anyway, my menu is very simple, nothing fancy, I’ve changed my font to Trajan Pro under ‘menustyle’ in the style editor and added this in the inspector window but it doesn’t show up on the page

I’ve started from scratch three times and am slowly getting what I have to do (following some tutorials you suggested elsewhere) but all with all my efforts changing the link colours in the Actions palette I can only get the background and dividers to work…not the colour of the font.

The ‘link’ colours don’t apply at all, I only get black Times.

Hi David, I went back to the menu on my site…clicked, adjusted the size, changed the text…just generally going over stuff and Hey Presto…it worked!

Why did it take so long? I didn’t see it until I did a browser preview but I didn’t see it on the FW page.

Why did it take so long?

You have me stumped there!

But remember if you have a problem then share a link to your page online and we can see the underlying code - we can usually tell what is going wrong from there.

And if you dont want to share a link publicly then let us know and someone will offer to have a look on the QT.

Thank you, David. I have done one menu using the FW Pro 7 automatic menu…it takes some organizing of the pages but it worked well. I am going to try to use that method more i the future.

Hi again David, I have been trying the Auto Generated Menu and have found a problem which has sent me back to the old way (under the advice of Softpress Support from Keith).
When I worked the menu, following the instructions I find that I get the Header in the nav bar then it’s repeated below in the drop down (under the About the Artist and Contact). I wrote to Keith as my Thank You and Error pages were listed in the drop down menu!

http://www.arrowsmithleather.com/

Keith said to use ‘Remove from CSS Menu’ on those pages…didn’t work. Then he reworked it himself and got rid of the Thank You, Error AND the second Contact under Contact:

http://users.softpress.com/keith/carolyn

…however this also got rid of the link in Contact…it didn’t go anywhere! When I pointed this out I was advised to just go back to the old way of building my menu…which I will do from now on…so much easier to add and subtract pages.
