I’ve created a site in FW with an order form and PHP script created by Forms To Go. Everything works fine apart from the email response to the form, where pound signs are preceded by a ‘Å’. I’m pretty sure this is nothing to do with FW, and I’ve read that it’s to do with character encoding, but I can’t seem to find out what to change.
One of the pages is http://www.v2sport.com/Elite/elite-order-form.html but I’m almost certain it’s the script created by Forms to Go. Try making an order but put in dummy information and my name: Neil West (then the client will know it’s me testing) the resulting email will show the problem.
There are £ signs in the page which come out correctly in the email, but it’s the £ signs added in Forms to Go that appear with the additional character.
I’m not quite sure how to link to the script itself, I could copy and paste it here but there’s a lot of it!
You could put the script on Pastie or Gist. Then paste the full URL to either as a separate line in your message to the list, and we’ll see a nice syntax-highlighted version of it on the Web view, or a neat text link in Mail.
Be sure to elide any sensitive data, these pastebin services are forever…

I’d contacted Bebosoft (the makers of FTG) as well as here, it appears that it was the coding of the individual order pages. I changed it in the inspector to unicode 5.1 UTF 8 and the characters have now disappeared.
Still seems strange that the £ signs added in FW came out okay, but the coding of the FW page affected the appearance of the £ signs added in FTG. Just one more thing to add to the list of things that are ‘over my head’!
