I can create a link to PDF from a graphic items but this seems more difficult to do from an html text.

Hi Tony,

You can insert a Link To PDF Action as an inline item within some text. Set Name (in the Actions palette) to contain the text that you want to have the link attached to. This will pick up the style of surrounding text.

E.g. “Download [Inline Link To PDF Action, Name: “Widget manual”] for more information”

will be published as

“Download Widget manual for more information” (with a link on “Widget manual”)

HI Jeremy

Thank you for your response. Do you have a link for this action?

I think it’s a standard Action.

If you select Action Item from the Insert Menu, it should be in the Action Item submenu.

Action > Link to PDF File

After this there is no pointer as to what to do next.

Link to PDF file works quite differently than using a graphic image to link to a PDF file .

  1. Put a text cursor where you want to have the PDF link
  2. Insert the “Link To PDF” Action
  3. Select the file you want to link to in the Actions palette
  4. Type the text you want to carry the link in the Name field in the Actions palette

Thank you Jeremy

I can see that now, I was creating a text Link before adding the action. That was the problem.
