[Pro] AddThis stopped playing nice

I’ve had AddThis on whitehallboca.com for at least a year. Today, I ran the Safari update from Apple’s software update prior to launching Freeway. But now when I preview my pages in Freeway Pro 5.6.3, the AddThis icons don’t pop up as before. Instead, I get this garbled text below it. I’m afraid to upload the site, or is this just something that appears that way in Freeway’s preview and won’t actually appear that way on my server after upload?

The only thing I had changed was to add a Pinterest button below the AddThis button to the home page only. Even when I removed that and backed out of Freeway without saving anything, I’m still getting the bizarre AddThis behavior – and now on all pages where the AddThis button appears.

I believe the update for Safari also required an update to Adobe’s flash, so perhaps that had something to do with it as well?

I’ve emptied the Safari cache, ran the latest version of Cocktail to clean stuff up, etc. Same behavior now persists.

Anyone can help?

This is expected behavior, because the code that is injected by the Action uses a “protocol-less” URL to work around the possibility that you might use the plug in in an https page. Specifically, the link to the CSS and js files begin with //server.dom/path/to/file… rather than http://server.dom/path/to/file. If you upload to your server, you will see that it all just works fine.

Okay, and thanks, Walter. I am reassured. Now I’ll go back and add the Pinterest icon and just kind of hold my nose when I view the pages locally in Freeway’s preview. Again, many thanks.
