I’m a current subscriber and personally, think it’s good value given they give you pretty much EVERYTHING.
Not that I’d advocate it’s use here, but should they day come I’d like to dip into Dreamweaver, Muse, Edge animate etc. Its good to know its there. You could argue they give you TOO MUCH for a set price (will probably never use Scout, SpeedGrade, Fireworks, Flash, Premier etc…) but the monthly price is not too bad. At least, it’s not too bad for the initial year since it’s an ‘upgrade’ price.
One thing I do love however, is after a clean OS install I don’t have to hunt around the house for my original install discs, everything is kept up to date and the font / workspace syncing is useful if you use more than one Mac.
That said, I know quite a few people are against such a move, mainly those that use only a couple of apps, and thats understandable.
Ok, so I’m probably the only person who didn’t already know this but I’ll mention it anyway. Apparently Adobe will continue selling all versions of CS6 as a perpetual license indefinitely. No updates other than bug fixes but still, at least it’s an alternative to subscribing if you’re currently using an older version of CS.
I’ve decided to to give this Adobe Creative Cloud thing a try. With all of the new features available, I feel like I need to upgrade, but I can’t afford to shell out $1,600.
Just out of curiosity, I’m currently running CS5. How much of a change is CS6 from CS5? Are all of the shortcut commands the same?
Okay, maybe I’m drinking too much of the Adobe Kool Aid, but I’m actually liking this Cloud thing.
The apps are awesome and up-to-date, plus I have access to everything. I may even play around with Muse if I can find the time. Plus, I thought Adobe was gluing to make me pay for an entire year up front, but they’re only charging me monthly.
Isn’t that because you’re already a licensed CS user? You get a better deal (or so I thought). And non-licensed people pay the $600/yr. upfront. But maybe I’m wrong.

Okay, the Cloud just cost me $49.95 because my current font manager, Suitcase Fusion 4, is incompatible, which means I had to upgrade to Suitcase Fusion 5. Ouch!
I may regret it later, but we’ll see. BTW, because I was already a subscriber of TypeKit when I logged in with CC I received a message saying I would be getting a refund of $26.43, so I got that going for me. That and total consciousness on my death bed. LOL
