Unfortunately I have not yet upld it to the Internet, yet… For fear of letting ppl see hits lousy condition… But I can send you the hTMl file, if I only had your email adress.
For the first time in my history — due to your urging me to — I did a serious attempt to UL my site! AndI was so close to have a success!
But in the midst of the UL process, failure came instead. A sign saying ”we” failed to get in contact. Maybe the answer likes in these sentences from the FW manual;
”• Directory: The location on the server where your
files need to be uploaded. This may be at the base
level of the web domain’s directory (so it can be left
blank), a specified directory (for example “ht_docs”,
in which case you need to enter ht_docs in the
Directory field, or it may be located one or more
levels down (in which case you may be given a path
name which consists of different directories separated
by a forward slash symbol (“/”) for each level. Your
web host may refer to this as the “Path” in your
supplied uploading details.
If you receive “Error 550” messages when you try
to upload your files to your server, it is likely that
you are trying to upload the files into the base level
of your server rather than the specific directory your
host has told you to use.”
Here, I am completely at loss… Could this not be explained in plain english / more easy to understand, way…
More often than not Passive is indeed the way to go, but apparently that’s not the primary problem.
The name of the so-called “site root” will vary by host and server configuration but quite often (though not always) it’s named public_html. Your host can tell you the specific name, path and instructions for uploading.
Also, if you’re attempting to upload via SFTP vs plain FTP you need to ensure you’re using the correct port number, often it’s 22 but again your host may use a different one.
Are you trying to upload to the site root, for example, mysite.com? Or are you trying to upload to a sub-folder of the site, for example, mysite.com/subfolder/?
Todd
SHOULD the passive option be selected?
I have tried all three alternatives…
With all the same result; ”Cannot complete upload because we failed to connect.”
The most crucial point in all of this, is this: ”• Directory: The location on the server where your files need to be uploaded.”.

It helped me a lot when I first started all this to get an FTP Browser app
just to “see” the file structure on my remote server. Transmit - Transmit 5
In the absence of that, it was also helpful that my server came with cPanel
web tools - one of which shows you the server file structure.
Server roots have a litany of subfolders and files, all necessary for the
running of your server. Web pages all go into a special subfolder - like
this… mysite.com/public_html
Here is a previous posting I made to explain this -
the root (folder) issue was the crucial detail… I had for some weeks, started my attempts to make a home page, as a Word Press project… which was not my cup of tea…
If you go to maxilla.nu. you can see my disaster. Most dominate on the first page, or is supposed to be… had it not been for you guys, i would never had put it up at this stage…, never!
So, it is still a hard hat area…,
construction site! PLZ beware!
Many thanks for your point on this! However, I can not see any green oct blue borders around different elements on the pages…
As for the first, black page, the images are menat to be well distributed evenly on the page like in a photo album (hence the black page).
I also have some problem w. the leading. As is most shown in page ”LeFort och ben”. Even though I have the same leading, 100%, the leading is still different!
I have also been trying to find the reason to this:
”Relative Page Layout Folder Action
The Action will be ignored on the following pages because they contain table based items:
“Om mig”
“LeFort & ben”
“Ögonen”
“Framtid & stöd”
Any help to solve these issues, are most welcomed!
In the View menu, turn on Show Outlines (I think that’s the name). This will show the outsides of any element you draw, whether you apply a visual border to it or not.
Thank you for this very tip! However, it works quite well in file w. only 2 pages, but not in my greater project w. 7 pages…
Which I send you in the HTML file.
