I am in need of some simple animation on my site. I will be trying an animated GIF, supposing that I can make one with the tools I have.
I suppose that such a thing has to be rectangular, correct?
Is there a way to have it play only once?
In a CSS layered design, can it run behind an HTML layer?
This will be greyscale and I am hoping it can be relatively small.
I am thinking of making the frames in Omnigraffle and the composition in GraphicConvertor.
Thanks.

It has to be in a rectangular container but with the use of transparency can appear to be any shape.
