Hi in Freeway Pro 5.5, if I want say a round logo to come in from left to right on the screen, rolling in (ie. like a wheel) as it came in and stop upright at the edge of the logo type, what tools could I use to create this effect?
I was thinking the Move action, which would allow the left to right and stop action… but the rolling of the round logo like a wheel, this I don’t know how to do?
Also, on this subject, the more I read with mobile devices becoming so prevelant, it seems using Flash is really frowned upon. I do know the sites that I won’t wait to load are always bloated Flash sites. I do want subtle animation that works on as many places as possible. What technologies replace Flash and are accessible now to use in Freeway?
It also seems to me, like animated GIFs, web animation in gerneral is on the wane. What are the general newer design trends for websites? It seems to me, if kept small and to a point, some cool animation effects are worthwhile. I’d like to create animations with a “wow” factor and that work every where, and without slow downs.
Tim Plumb has written some CSS 3 Actions which can do this, but only in WebKit and maybe Firefox 4 browsers. Have a look on the ActionsForge in the CSS 3 project.
Other than that, you can try the Freeway Move Layer Action in conjunction with an animated Gif to do the rotating, but I don’t have any idea how you could get it to stop rotating when it reaches the end of the path. There’s always Flash, but since I’m typing this on an iPad, I guess you know what I’ll say about that…
You could look at using Hype to create HTML5 / CSS3 / javascript animations…
