After many months of waiting, my Inlay CMS service is ready for you to use.
Inlay is a Content Management System that is optimized for simplicity and specially designed to interact well with Freeway (and other static Web design techniques).
Unlike many other CMSen, Inlay does not require that you chop your page up into header/footer/sidebar/body “partials”, but rather works directly with your page as you designed it. The only additions needed to make it work are some HTML5 data-attributes decorating the elements you want to make editable. The Inlay server reads your page, converts it to a template, and sets up an editing interface for you. If you use the Action to mark your editable regions, there’s no coding needed at all.
Each template page you make may be used over and over (like a Master Page) to make as many individual pages as you need. Set up one for all product detail pages, then create as many duplicates as you have products. These “virtual pages” will be fulfilled by the Inlay server, while any regular static pages in the same site will be served by your server. From a browser, there is no way to tell the difference between the two pages – they both appear to come from your server, and the HTML is completely free of identifying tags or markup. There are no limits to the number of pages you may make with this system.
Inlay is a hosted service, and you pay for it monthly. There are plan levels for a single site, 10 sites, or unlimited sites.
All plans come with one or more “editor” accounts, which you may assign to your clients, business partners (or bridge partners), and give them editing privileges over a site. If you have a multi-site account, you may assign the same editor to multiple sites, or a different editor to each site. Your editors cannot see any site you have not assigned to them, so a pro with a lot of clients can pay once for an account, then re-sell the editing privilege to each client, who will only see “their” site(s).
I don’t have “white label” account features yet, but I do plan to make that available later. For now, the interface is clean, modern, and generic.
Please give it a try, and tell a friend, too!
