[Pro] Area map not working

I want to use a graphic for multiple buttons. I created an image area map, and right-clicked to select hyperlink. The tab at the bottom of the page showed the correct page had been selected. I repeated this for all buttons. However, in Preview and Preview in Browser, the hyperlinks were not working.

I have checked and double-checked - they are all showing up correctly in the hyperlink tab at the bottom of the page. The only difference is that the globe symbol is grey, not blue, so I guess that has something to do with it. But what??!! There is very little in the manual or online help guide covering image maps.

I have got round the issue temporarily by overlaying another, empty graphic box, deselecting ‘Combine graphics’ and adding a link to that, but I am concerned the graphic may shift with some browsers.
Can anyone help with this?

NB A similar post was made back in 2006 but the instructions do not seem to apply to the current version of Freeway Pro.

I’m trying to rework my www pages using FW 6.1. It used to be easy, good manuals and decent tutorials. Now, there is no manual, just the old FW 5 one, and all instructions how to are scattered all over the place. It is impossible to save or print the pdf files describing the new features and how to use them. The video tutorials are useless, because of the very fast talking instructor with very bad articulation. Impossible for a foreigner (English is my 3rd language), in spite of have written books (my Doctoral Thesis, for example) in English, I can’t follow the instructions. In addition to be too fast, there is not enough step to step info how to implement the new features. Freeway used to be a superior program, easy to use, now it is an inferior product because of lousy documentation. I now have to start searching for another alternative, this is very sad, because I’ve using Freeway for years, if I remember right for at least 6 years and I lover the user interface. I hope the freeway people take a break from developing new features and fix the documentation and create useful tutorials instead.

I’ going to buy Rapidweawer and try that as a substitute for Freeway. I hope it is better documented!

I have tried both products, and I imagine that for certain very specific needs, you will like it very much. For anything free-form, where you really want to end up with precisely the layout you have in your mind, I expect you will be summarily disappointed – documentation notwithstanding.

If you have a specific question about using Freeway, as always, just ask. I am a very willing documenter of the application, but I am not able to anticipate your questions, which is why although I have written several major novels’ worth of prose about Freeway, I have never written a book or a “missing manual” for it. Ask me anything. Seriously, I can answer it or point you where you need to look.
