[Pro] Auto spawn new window ???

Hello, Firstly it is such a drag to know that I have to start looking for another web editor to take the place of Freeway Pro!

OK, I am rebuilding what was my first large (300+ webpages) project with Freeway Pro back in 2009/10. It is for a cannabis dispensary in Denver, Colorado, so yeah, fun stuff.

I need the first thing that happens when a Patient or Customer get to the website, is for it to then have a “confirm your age” page be the first thing they see.

Other examples are http://goodchem.org http://www.lacontesclonebar.com/ http://www.strainwise.com/home

Secondly, I would like for this to happen not to just the front page of the website, but from any page of the website should someone be coming to the website via a search engine link to an internal page, rather than the front/home page.

I know about “spawn new window” but that seems to need the user to start the action. I need for this to be an automatic thing.

Thanks for any and all help.

You could try using Timed Spawn New Window, which is bundled in that Action, but the problem is it’s going to fire on every page, even after the customer confirms. If I were doing this, I would write a bit of JavaScript to set a cookie on the visitor’s browser when they confirmed, and then check that each time they go to any page. It’s probably a dozen lines of JS, but if you haven’t written code from scratch before, I can also imagine it may sound daunting. What’s your experience level in that area?

What’s your experience level in that area? = Somewhere between zero and none! In fact, probably right in the middle of those two.

I am basically very WYSIWYG dependent as I am severely dyslexic and that does not mix very well with coding. If it is not GUI, then I do not have much of a chance of creating something.

And yes, I would only want to happen once per visit, if not once per machine. Visit makes more sense though probably.

I need to get this done somehow. How would I go about this? Would http://schema.org/ be of any help?

When I look at the source code for those examples I posted, of course I am looking at CMS sites like Drupal and so there’s nothing there I can “see” and then use in my site.

And if the user has things set to avoid cookies, would this JS still work?

Is there anyone that can help me with this please?

Is there some place where I can go having no knowledge of JS and still figure this out? There ought to be a pre-written JS script that will work for what I need, or for one to exist that needs very little tweaking.

Anyone?

Thanks!

Gosh! I thought that there would have been someone that could have given me a little guidance here. Oh well. I decided to go to Http://Fiverr.com and see what I could find over there.

There’s literally around 100 different “vendors” there offering to write JavaScript scripts, starting at $5.00 USD! I put it out to bid to a few of those vendors and actually found someone very helpful and wrote the script for me for only $20.00! And it works great!

Still working on the website, but the script is active now: http://Ganja-Gourmet.com
