[Pro] Background image confusion

The iStockphoto image that I hope shows up here is what a new client would like to see as his actual background, with text on the parchment paper side. How best would I accomplish this, especially to accommodate various browser windows — or can I?

I’m currently on the latest version of Pro 5. I’ve read several articles on background images and am getting confused. I’ve only ever used colors on backgrounds.

Any step-by-step help or pointers to an action would be hugely appreciated. (My company position got eliminated last week in a buy-out, so I’m back to freelancing. Thus, a new site after a long time away from doing one.)

Within limits.

Set it as a 'Proper’Page background - nothing on the page selected and then under the paintbrush icon in the inspector choose your image and set it to Horizontal: Left and Vertical: Top but this will only give you a usable parchment area of about 2/3 of a page at 1024.

I think I would separate the stripy bit from the parchment so that you can use it better ie tile the parchment.

I’ll give this a shot later in the day, David. Probably be back with further questions. Thank you, though, for your quick response. (I wish I could get notifications in e-mail when someone responds to me. Used to work. Now it just doesn’t.)
