[Pro] Background image

Hi all,

I am experimenting with a new design and want my site to have the page within a page/background scenario - like this

From another thread on this forum i think i have figured it out but the background image options are tile, center, left, right - none of these options seem to give me a full background image like the link site above (Tile - tiles the picture, centre give me white borders each side)?

I hope you understand what i mean,
cheers
Steve

Are you applying the bg image to the Page rather than drawing an HTML item and adding it to that.

The correct place is to look under the paintbrush tab in the Page Inspector when you have nothing selected on your page.

Add your bg image there - tile, tile

This is the bg image the site you linked to uses http://www.funinschoolholidays.co.uk/wp-content/themes/fish/img/bg4.jpg

Steve - I think you should start with a flat color background first. Then
learn what you can about finding or making tile-able images while you
continue working with the other elements of your vision – which I guarantee
will all be harder to realize than a background image. Don’t get stuck on
the first step… divide and conquer.

The site you point to uses some fancy non-standard trickery to achieve the
background effect, but lucky for you there is more than one way to approach
the subject. Take a break, look at what makes a good image tile, the rest
should follow.

You’re most welcome Mr. Steve - and believe me when I say that I’ve been
there  The benefit of always setting the bar higher than we can reach is
that we learn to reach… higher. Although sometimes at the expense of
supporting the caffeine, sugar, and late-night-oil industries.

All the Best.
