[Pro] Background Supersizer graphic size?

Barry,

If you are comfortable with making custom tag styles and using the extended
tab of the Style Editor, then you can use this CSS method for fitting the
background image.

First, use the Inspector to set the background image, set the Horizontal to
Center and the Vertical to Top. Uncheck Background Scrolls.

Then use the Style Editor to create the Tag style “body” with the following
custom attributes:

background-attachment: fixed;
-webkit-background-size: cover;
-moz-background-size: cover;
-o-background-size: cover;
background-size: cover;

That’s it!

Now, if you want to cover Internet Explorer, there are a couple more
attributes to add. You can read more about that at

something seems very wrong- I got rid of all the pictures except 1 .jpg that is like 83kb,

http://www.hoffkids.com/backgroundtest.html

when you go to the page, it shows black first then the image.

Is this the best it gets? If so, then I will pass on using Freeway;s Background SUpersizer action and maybe down the road learn how to do it flawlessly the way the better sites have it.

Maybe I am doing somehting wrong?

I think Dave said something about BSS setting the background color to
black, so what you are seeing is a delay in the background image loading.
Looking at your site, I suspect that is because the background image is
being loaded by the action-generated javascript well after the stylesheet
loads the background color. I could be wrong.

In any case, I don’t find it to be a horrible delay.

I think the problem is that the code order determines that everything on the page loads before your bg image.

Have you tried setting a page bg image as well - one with a small file size.

guys,

see if this is better.

http://hoffkids.com/backgroundtest.html

I cleared out all graphics and
I tried it with a clean new MASTER2.

If it does not flash black, then that must mean it has something to do with my site that was showing black not the action

No flash to black here

thanks-

it seems that I had a black background on my page BEFORE I applied the action. I removed the black background but it was still “seeing” it.

no idea…

it seems whichever I make the first picture in the BG action, the SECOND one is getting split horizontally- it is not the picture, but for some reason the whichever is the second is getting messed up
