Works fine on all browsers, but I just can’t get it to work on the iPad, etc. Bannerzest makes an alternative code for this, but somehow it will not play. Only the first picture shows up. Apparently it will, when working properly, show a simple transmission slideshow. Fine with me, if I can get it to work!
I’d appreciate very much if someone could have a look…
Yes, I’ve been into the Bannerzest forums, too, but I suspect this has something to do with where Freeway puts the Bannerzest code on the page.
At least, could someone familiar with coding have a look and perhaps say that this is not the case, then I know I have to look elsewhere?
Hmm, Freeway normally does not do something special with your Bannerzest code. I guess if freeway did, the normal and alternative slideshow should not be visible at all.
Stupid question, but did you tick the box in Bannerzest to generate the alternative slideshow before uploading?
Not a stupid question, and yes, I did tick the box.
I didn’t think that the code would be wrong as such, but as it is placed within a markup item, that it should have been somewhere else. I don’t know much about coding, hence the Freeway way of making web sites…
I normally copy the external code from BannerZest, correct the path to the Slideshow file in it’s own folder on my server and paste the code in a markup item anywhere I want. This has never been an issue in my case.
Maybe make sure that the markup item is layered and on top of everything?
David, the carousel action is nice but as I understand it lacks the possibility of looping. When you have 15 -20 images it looks a little awkward when you come to the end and they all flash backwards before your eyes.
So if I could get the BZ alternate slideshow to work it would be better for the moment. But there is something wrong with their output and I think now the best thing is to switch over to the BZ forums.
In the js folder there is an index.html file with nothing in it, the js folder, the images folder and a css folder.
This is where it gets too complicated for me. According to BZ it should only be to tick the alternate box when you publish and voila, you have a slideshow working on the ipad. So not.
Here is my code that I’ve used on every site I use Bannerzest on. Place this in the markup item field and it should work. If it does not work, I think there is a bigger issue. Please note that I have a folder in the root of my website called BannerZest where I put all the files generated by BannerZest in. Then the url in my code below is correct.
Your browser doesn't support JavaScript or you have disabled JavaScript.
Thank you for your effort. But this is the same code I use, but it only sparks off the flash file, correctly, which works on “normal” machines. On the ipad I’m only left with one static picture and no movements.
Very nice of you to help. I tried what you said, but nothing happened. Bannerzest is a quick fix for making Flash slideshows, but it seems their alternate leaves a lot to be desired. However, I don’t think this is the right forum to go investigating further. I looked into the BZ forum and there are a couple of threads with the same topic, but no real answers. I probably will skip the whole thing and do it with Hype instead, however time consuming. Thanks again.
