[Pro] Can't get rid of scroll bar on short page

Hi there

I’m hoping that someone may be able to help me out with this page http://dundeemuseumoftransport.co.uk/contact/

I know it will depend on the size of your screen but I can’t get rid of the scroll bar as it seems to think the page is a lot longer than it actually is.

The page consists of a header graphic, CSS menu created with the Freeway action and an HTML container with text and a table for the form to hold all the elements together.

I have used the Accordion action as part of the contact form but even with it activated it still doesn’t fill my screen. I have tried unticking the CSS box for the table so I can use the ‘height can shrink’ option but this doesn’t make any difference.

The rest of the site seems to display okay so I’m hoping someone can spot what I need to change to lose the scroll bar.

Many thanks

Gordon

The gallerytext div has a height of 985px. Start there.

Hi Todd

Thanks for looking at this for me. If I reduce the height of the div in Freeway (screen measurements panel) then the text on my Freeway page becomes hidden and hard to work with.

Is there an equivalent to the ‘height can shrink’ table function that I can use with the divs so the height when viewed in the browser is correct but I don’t have anything hidden from view when I’m working in Freeway?

Thanks

Have you tried deleting the height value then Tab out of the field.
What you want is for the field to be empty (not zero “0”). This should
collapse the div to fit the content yet it will stretch if the text is
enlarged.

Hi Todd

I tried making the field value blank but it didn’t like it.

I see there are two parts for the div height in the inspector palette - one called ‘dimensions’ and another called ‘screen measurements’.

I don’t know if I’ve done the right thing but by deselecting the height icon in the dimensions tab it brings the bottom of the HTML box on the screen up to where the text finishes. Now when I upload the pages the ‘extra’ parts are no longer there. Is this the right thing to do?

Thanks again

Looks like you got it. Did you get rid of the “gallerytext” box or was
I hallucinating all along?

Hi Todd

Thanks again for looking at this for me. I renamed the DIV to
contacttext as I’d copied it from the gallery page and forgotten to
change it!

All the best
