[Pro] CAPTCHA graphic stopped showing

Hi,
I have just been informed by a client that the CAPTCHA image generated on his contact page is no longer showing. I have just checked this out and sure enough it isn’t. I created the form and CAPTCHA using Forms To Go and up until now it has functioned perfectly. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could have happened as I haven’t changed anything on the site?

Thanks,

Richard

Maybe it is to do with what the CAPTCHA uses to generate the image… imagemagick or gd library, I remember when the HD went down on a server I have they replaced the drive and installed the accounts from a backup but never enabled the GD library so any scripts that used that broke until they configured PHP as it was before.

… maybe PHP has been updated on the server and the CAPTCHA is not compatible although that may be pulling at straws.

Might be worth talking to the hosting company, find out what the CAPTCHA needs so you can tell them and make sure those versions or libraries are available.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply. I got in touch with the hosting providers and apparently it was a new version of php causing the problem. Version php 5.2.8 and above can cause problems with FTG captcha scripts. I think newer versions of FTG fix the bug.
