Freeway 5.4
Hi Walter,
Could you please take a look a this and let me know what I am doing wrong.
http://rgcreative.com/WFtest/
I’m using rollovers to link subheading titles to corresponding-anchored carousel panes to other pages. I did what you and David suggested using the querystring external hyperlink. However, I am still having issues with it.
If you click on the subheadings, at the bottom of the home page, you will notice that the links are broken and I get a “404 not found error”. Also if you look at the url you’ll notice the querystring extension.
I have posted the website in our server at the moment for testing purposes; thus the www.rgcreative.com/WFtest/WildflowerInterna…?panename…etc.
Is the fact of having www.rgcreative.com/WFtest instead of the real website address what is causing the problem?
Does the website has to be in its own domain in order to see the links working properly?
Would you be so kind and provide a step by step instructions?
Sorry, If I bug you with all these questions, but I really like to know how to fix this, since I am not a code expert.
Thank you so much for your valuable support.
regards

The healthcare link is to http://www.rgcreative.com/WFtest/WildflowerInternational_Markets.html?HealthCare
but there doesn’t appear to be a page called WildflowerInternational_Markets.html in that folder
Have you actually visited the page at that address (without the querystring)?

hi David,
Yes, the page is WildflowerInt…_Markets.html, and Health Care is a carousel pane on that page.

But it is not in the WFtest folder on the rgcreative site!

Could it be the “FILE” name which I just notice is different form the “TITLE” name in the inspector in freeway?

I have found it!
The correct link is http://www.rgcreative.com/WFtest/wildflowerintern.html?HealthCare
Not http://www.rgcreative.com/WFtest/WildflowerInternational_Markets.html?HealthCare
The link has to be to the actual file name rather than the Page Title which FW will truncate down to 21 characters by default - can be changed in Document Setup
So try that in you links - it does work (try the one in the second line of this post)

Thank you so much David,
I look your at your links and they work great. Also, as a test I renamed the title in freeway and uploaded to rgcreative folder. It works perfectly now.
I’m really grateful to you and Walter for helping us novices.
thumbs up.

Not a problem - just remember that the Web is totally unforgiving when it comes to links. A simple typo or the wrong case text or a full stop on the end and you will get a 404 Not Found error.
So when you get a 404 that is the first place to look.
