[Pro] change title tags in CMS?

We’re about to start putting together a site for a client who wants the ability to edit the content. It looks like we’re going to use the Webyep CMS but the client has asked if he will be able to edit the title tag (he’s big into SEO and wants to make sure he stays close to the top of the list).

I’ve read on a forum that, with some coding, it is possible to change the tag using webyep, but does that then screw up the page within FW i.e. if I upload the site again, what will happen to the page that the client has altered? Will I need to alter my page title to match that of the site?

In fact, thinking about it, what happens to any of the info that gets added/edited through webyep if I upload the site again?

As long as you don’t change the file name, changing the tag won’t make any difference to WebYep.

Hi neil
Somewhere in my millions of experimental actions, I do have a webyep action that allows webyep to change the page title.
if you want to have a test with it then let me know and I will find it and send it over… all I would need is your email address
cheers max

Thanks Max, I’ve sent you an email.

David, do I assume there’s more to your message? - it seems to be somewhat curtailed.

When using a cms, does all the info that needs to be edited, need entering via the cms? I presume that any info created in FW that is then edited via the cms would be replaced by the original info in subsequent uploads. Or can info created in FW NOT actually be edited by a cms?

Hi Neil,

in fact, all the input in CMS will be saved in the data folder of webyep - will mean if you define a rich-text-element for example named rt-left-main webyep creates in the data folder a file called 1-rt-left-main. The saved datas will be kept and you only will run into trouble by renaming this rich-text-element into freeway. I suppose, that Maxs "rename page title webyep action piece" will work in the same way (anyway Max Im interested in your experimantal actions too). So no fear in changing freeway content and uploading as long it`s not direct changings of actual webyep elements.
