I have only just discovered the magic of the Anonymous action which is making my life with Freeway a more pleasant experience, tied in with external stylesheets and ending the specificity wars I had with responsive designs.
I saw the Classify Action listed which sounded like it made it easy to switch and ID into a Class. I have installed it in FW6 but it does not appear as an option when i select a div in the page. I say in as all my sites are in-line (not going to say box-model honest!) Does this make a difference?
It’s easy enough to add a class/es but wondered what I might be missing with the Classify Action.
The classify action had been available and works. So yes - you should be able to use it instead of the Anonymous (if you want to remove the ID and add a class in one bunch.
Good call btw. cause this is a possible key to throw out the “responsive or whatever parts” and collect them on a separate stylesheet and could therefor replace for the moment my hot loved Advanced Inline Style Remover?
I still can’t seem to have it working on items i insert directly within other divs ie relatively positioned, though if i place a div absolutely, it works just fine. I tried to cheat by drawing a div in the pasteboard area, applying the action and then cutting and pasting into a div but it’s too smart for me. Warning appears saying you can only apply the action to ‘layered’ items
No worries, happy with the anonymous action, though i did use classify to add a class to every div behind my form fields.
Whilst I think about it, does anyone know how to add place holder text to the ‘Text Area’ field in HTML5. I’m probably missing something!
David, I clearly need to spend some time in the ‘Forge’ checking out all the actions and what they can do for me. Hopefully, one day we will see the next generation Actions Forge and things will be even better.
I am definitely a visual learner, so wouldn’t it be great if we could have little screencasts that went along with some of the actions to show them - well, in action.
Sometimes I read a description and am none the wiser until I experiment with it. Often getting your hands dirty is a great way to learn, though a short demo would be an excellent enhancement.
I can dream right?
I eventually added the placeholder tag manually placeholder=" " but I’ll have a play with that action now.
