Excess is a good keyword for it, excellent.

A client excessively wants to destroy a well written and good designed website?

This decease is called CMS and is mostly asked when:

  1. The web designer can’t make proper UX and UI experiences
  2. The client searches for an idiot (because he’s not willing to pay for maintenance e.g.)

If clients want to “access” content of their front-end, you need to think about a content-management-system. To name the smaller ones it is WebYep, Pulse or Perch. The monoliths under them are WordPress, ModX and the truly Freeway one is Walters’ Inlay ( https://inlay.io ).

So it mainly depends on what the client wants to “manage (manipulate)”.
