When I go to submit an example on my contact page…it does not seem to send me anything to my email…anyone have any suggestions?

Ryan,

Unlike what the video tutorial states, the page does not have to be a .php, .html works fine.

However, that’s not the problem. It seems to be sending fine from my perspective! You probably have already tried this, but double-check that the action settings are correct.

The form itself works but there are a couple of issues.

First read the page at FreewayActions.com | PHP feedback form - especially the section on Special Names.

Then look at your fields and name them correctly (3rd Tab in the inspector)

While this will not make your form work it will make things better when it does start to work.

Where is your site hosted, is the server running PHP and does your hosting package give you that facility.

If the answer is Yes to PHP is it hosted at GoDaddy - if so there is some hoop jumping to be done and there are extra configuration options in the action interface.

It is GoDaddy - isn’t it?

Bummer!

Delta you are right on I have a reseller with them and got it free and never had an issue before but what do I need to do? You nailed it…

If you go back to Tim’s page at FreewayActions.com | PHP feedback form

There is a section that outlines your next step - look down to the Advanced Options para.

Once back in the FW action interface clicking on the ‘Set up info’ button will take you to this page http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/508/specifying-an-email-address-for-the-php-form-mailer

Do that step and then back to FW - upload and test.

I am fortunate that I have had no personal experience of trying to do this at GD - just helped others. I wouldn’t host with them because of the vagaries and peculiarities with some of their PHP implementation. So much easier to do all this on an industry standard configured Unix/Linux server where it all ‘just works’ out of the box - no faffing around!

But do the hoop jumping now and it will put you in good stead for other sites hosted with them.

Personally I would move my site elsewhere.
